QuranTEEN: Narratives of the Filipino youth amidst the pandemic: Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities

Are you interested in understanding the New Normal’s effect on the Filipino youth? The UST Department of Political Science together with the UST Research Center for Social Sciences and Education and in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung-Philippines presents “QUARANTEEN: Narratives of the Filipino Youth amidst a Pandemic”, this is a webinar series that will revolve around the issues, challenges, and opportunities that the Filipino youth encounters in the New Normal. It will provide a voice for the experiences of the Filipino youth in a country that is deeply affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. This will also open a window of opportunity for everyone to understand how the Filipino youth is adapting in a challenging environment. This event will be conducted on November 23-25, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM via Zoom meeting. It will be free of charge and certificates will be distributed online to all participants.

Understanding 21st Century Democracy. Now on its second strand with the theme, “Embracing Democracy as an Educational Commitment”

The University of Santo Tomas, Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSED) and the Fondazionne Gravissimum Educationis, in cooperation with the Teacher Education Council (TEC) of the Department of Education, will be holding the sixth of its webinar series on “Understanding 21st Century Democracy”.  Now on its second strand with the theme, “Embracing Democracy as an Educational Commitment”, the webinar slated on November 14, 2020, from 10:00 am – 12:00 nn via the UST Cloud Campus, features Dr. Theresa Alviar-Martin of the Kennesaw University, who will talk about “Democracy and the School Curriculum”.  The lecture will be followed by discussions of the panel of reactors composed of Dr. Carmela Oracion of Ateneo de Manila University and Dr. Vicente Chua Reyes, Jr. of the University of Nottingham.
