The Community-Engaged Studies Research Interest Group of the Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSED) is spearheading a virtual event as part of the Research Week. This is the webinar, The Digital Researcher: Researching Social Media which will be held on March 25, 2021, Thursday, at 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM. The webinar seeks to understand the role of researchers in this new form of human interaction and expression. Furthermore, discussions on social media research will shed some light on how researchers develop new methodologies and techniques to understand the way audiences use various channels and how these influence their behaviors and discourses. (PAPSAS, Inc.) will be holding the 2021 Knowledge Sharing Session entitled, “Qualitative Research: Finding Deeper Meaning in SAS Practices” on March 05, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm via Zoom.
The UST Simbahayan Community Development Office, in partnership with Office of the Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs, University of Santo Tomas Central Student Council, and UST Research Center for Social Sciences & Education – UST-RCSSEd, cordially invites you to the Bartolome de las Casas Research Conference 2021 with the theme “Conducting Community-Engaged Research in Exploring the COVID-19 Responses.” This two-part conference will be held on March 5 (Friday) at 9:00-11:00 am (AM Session) for faculty research, and at 4:30-6:30 pm (PM Session) for student research.
Community-engaged and community-based research will be presented by faculty and student researchers from various faculties and colleges of the University. This event aims to promote sustainable community-based research that will bring a positive impact on marginalized communities, especially in these unprecedented times.

Mr. Mercado published his food heritage research entitled: Pancit: Explicating the Culinary Safeguarding Culture of Philippine Noodles – The Case of Luzon Island at the Journal of Culinary Science and Technology.

The UST Research Center on Social Sciences and Education proudly announces the recent publications of research associate Dr. Allan de Guzman.
Dr. de Guzman, along with co-authors Mesana and Roman, published two separate articles in the ISI journals, one in the Educational Gerontology (Routledge), and the other in the Journal of Applied Gerontology (Sage, Impact factor 1.638).
