TECOVID-19 Colloquy Series: Understanding Teacher Education Noticing Behavior During COVID-19 Pandemic- Mindfulness, Decision-Making, and Adaptation

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the University of Santo Tomas, Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSED) will be holding the 4th installment of their webinar series on “TECOVID-19 Colloquy Series: Understanding Teacher Education Noticing Behavior During COVID-19 Pandemic- Mindfulness, Decision-Making, and Adaptation”,  on October 03, 2020, from 9:00 – 11:30 am and from 1:30 – 4:00 pm, via the UST Cloud Campus.
The morning session will feature Dr. Jerome T. Buenviaje, Dean of the College of Education of the University of the Philippines – Diliman who will speak about “Redesigning Schools for Stronger Relationship”.  In the afternoon session, Dr. Carmela C. Oracion, the Executive Director of the Center for Educational Development and Assistant to the University President for Basic Education of the Ateneo de Manila University will talk about “Expanding Learning Time”.

AlerTomas Webinar Series

We invite everyone for the final installment of this year’s AlerTomas Webinar Series this September 26 (Saturday) 4:00-5:30 p.m.  It is in partnership between the University of Santo Tomas – Simbahayan and the National Taipei University – International Program on Urban Governance, the event will be part of a webinar and part round-table discussion both of which will focus on the challenges or pathways of furthering care for the environment through community sustainability.  
Guest speaker, Asst. Prof. Chia-An Andy Ku, a Ph.D. in Geography graduate from the University of Cambridge, will discuss the link between climate change and resilient research with city/community-level disaster risk reduction planning and management, with a strong focus on flooding in Taiwan.  Round-table discussions open a forum for HEI level experiences and pathways towards care for creation.

TECOVID-19 Colloquy Series: Understanding Teacher Education Noticing Behavior During COVID-19 Pandemic- Mindfulness, Decision-Making, and Adaptation

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the University of Santo Tomas, Research Center for Social Sciences and Education (RCSSED) will collaborate to bring the “TECOVID-19 Colloquy Series: Understanding Teacher Education Noticing Behavior During COVID-19 Pandemic- Mindfulness, Decision-Making, and Adaptation” from August to October 2020 via the UST Cloud Campus.  
The series will provide understanding on how the COVID-19 pandemic is shaping and reshaping the ontological, epistemological and axiological directions and attributes of today’s higher education delivery in most parts of the globe. It will describe the contexts and dynamics of teacher education institutions’ internal and external environments that are critical in their overall operations during the pandemic; explicate how challenges, imperatives and implications are calibrated, understood and interpreted by teacher education institutions; and elucidate key strategic responses, policies and guidelines enacted by teacher education institutions at the institutional, program and individual levels. 

Additionally, the series will help leaders and program implementers of teacher education Institutions in institution-wide level initiative such as policy design, and support to organization and internal quality assurance systems; in program level which comprises actions to measure and enhance the design, content and delivery of the program within a department or a school; and in individual level which includes initiatives that help teachers achieve their mission, encouraging them to innovate and to support improvements to student learning and adopt a learner-oriented focus.

IconSWM-India–Philippines Connect Webinar on “Resource Circulation and Waste Management under the Pandemic COVID-19″

September 10, 2020 marks another milestone for the Sustainability RIG of the UST Research Center on Social Science and Education as RIG Lead, Dr. Arlen Ancheta and Dr. Moises Norman Garcia join as invited speakers to the internationalized India-Philippines Connect Webinar at the International Society of Waste Management, Air and Water (ISWMAW www.iswmaw.com).  This year the theme of the Society’s conference turned webinar is Resource Circulation & Waste Management under Pandemic Covid-19.  Drs. Ancheta and Garcia are experts on the field of Zero-Waste, and each will be holding their own sessions during the webinar.

The program will start at 12:15 (Indian Standard Time, 2:45 Philippine Time).  Dr. Ancheta is set to deliver a speech during the technical session, while Dr. Garcia will be a panelist during the panel discussion.
